M4 Can I return the AONIU M4 if it isn’t right for me?

Eligible AONIU M4 purchases may be returned in accordance with our return policy. Return eligibility, shipping responsibilities, and any applicable fees depend on the return reason, the condition of the scooter, the date it was received, and whether the original packaging and accessories are available.
Before returning the scooter, please contact support@aoniu.com with your order number and the reason for the return. Please do not ship the scooter back without authorization, as our team first needs to confirm the return address and provide the appropriate instructions.
We understand that every customer’s situation is different. Our team will review your request carefully, explain the available options clearly, and assist you throughout the return process.

M4 Can I ride the AONIU M4 in the rain or on wet roads?

The AONIU M4 has an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which provides protection against light splashes. However, it is not fully waterproof, so we do not recommend riding in heavy rain, through standing water, or in flooded conditions.
Wet surfaces can reduce tire traction and increase braking distance. If you are caught in light rain, reduce your speed, avoid sudden acceleration or braking, and keep a greater distance from other vehicles. After riding, switch off the scooter and wipe it dry before storing or charging it. Never charge the M4 while the scooter or charging port is wet.

M4 Do you ship the AONIU M4 to the United States?

Yes. AONIU M4 orders for the United States ship from our U.S. warehouse. Enter your address at checkout to confirm delivery availability.

If you have any trouble checking out, email us at support@aoniu.com with your ZIP code and a brief description or screenshot of the issue. We’ll be happy to look into it and help you complete your order.

M4 How about the warranty?

AONIU warranty coverage: Battery—12 months (free replacement if capacity drops by over 50% under normal use; water damage or misuse may require paying part costs). Motor—12 months (free replacement for non-recoverable performance failure; water damage/impact not covered). Controller—12 months (same terms as motor). Charger, display, ignition lock, lights—12 months (defects covered; loss, water, improper charging, impact, or not following the manual are not covered). Out of warranty or user-caused damage: free repair guidance, parts may be charged.

M4 How comfortable is the AONIU M4 on rough roads?

The AONIU M4 is equipped with 10-inch pneumatic tires and front and rear suspension, which work together to absorb vibrations and reduce the impact of cracks, bumps, and uneven pavement. This provides a more stable and comfortable ride than scooters with smaller solid tires or no suspension.
However, riding comfort will still depend on road conditions, tire pressure, rider weight, and riding speed. For rough or unfamiliar surfaces, we recommend slowing down, keeping both hands firmly on the handlebars, and avoiding large potholes or other severe obstacles. The suspension improves comfort and control, but it cannot completely eliminate every impact.

M4 How do I change the AONIU M4 display from km/h to MPH?

You can change the speed unit on your AONIU M4 from kilometers per hour (km/h) to miles per hour (MPH) by following these steps:

  1. Turn on the scooter and its display.
  2. Press and hold the Power and MODE buttons together for approximately 3–5 seconds to enter the settings menu.
  3. Briefly press the Power button until P02 appears on the display.
  4. Briefly press the MODE button to change the setting from 0 to 1:
    0 = km/h
    1 = MPH
  5. Press and hold the Power and MODE buttons together again to save the setting and exit the menu.
  6. Restart the display and confirm that the speed is now shown in MPH.

Please adjust only the P02 setting. We recommend leaving all other parameters unchanged, as they control other scooter functions and may affect performance or operation.

If your display menu looks different or the speed unit does not change after following these steps, please don’t worry—we’ll be happy to help. Contact us at support@aoniu.com and include a clear photo or short video of the display so our support team can provide the correct guidance for your scooter.

M4 How fast does the AONIU M4 go, and can beginners select a lower speed?

The AONIU M4 can reach a top speed of up to 28 mph under suitable riding conditions. Actual speed may vary depending on rider weight, battery level, terrain, wind, temperature, and tire pressure.

Beginners can start with a lower speed setting while becoming familiar with the scooter’s acceleration, braking, and handling. The M4 can also be limited to approximately 15 mph through the display settings when a more controlled riding speed is preferred. We strongly recommend practicing in a safe, open area and wearing appropriate protective gear before riding at higher speeds.

M4 How long does the AONIU M4 battery last?

The AONIU M4 uses a lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion batteries can typically last 5–10 years, depending on usage, charging habits, and storage conditions. Battery capacity will gradually decrease over time, so the range per charge may become shorter as the battery ages.

M4 How long does the AONIU M4 take to charge, and is the battery removable or replaceable?

The AONIU M4 typically takes approximately 6 hours to charge fully. Actual charging time may vary depending on the remaining battery level, battery temperature, and charging conditions. For safe and reliable charging, always use the original AONIU charger and charge the scooter in a dry, well-ventilated area.
The battery can be replaced if necessary, but battery removal and replacement should only be performed with the correct compatible part and proper technical guidance. Please do not open the battery compartment or attempt to repair the battery yourself. If you believe the battery needs to be replaced, contact support@aoniu.com with your order number and a description of the issue. Our support team will help confirm the correct next step.

M4 How much assembly does the AONIU M4 require?

The AONIU M4 arrives mostly assembled, so only a few final setup steps are required before riding. Before your first ride, please carefully follow the instructions in the user manual, tighten all required screws, check the folding mechanism, confirm that the brakes operate correctly, inspect the tire pressure, and fully charge the battery. For safety, do not ride the scooter until every component has been correctly installed and checked.
If you have any questions during setup, please contact support@aoniu.com with your order number and photos of the part you need help with. Our support team will be happy to assist you.

M4 How to Choose an Electric Scooter

Start with safety: choose reliable brakes and stable handling. Next, check real-world range and battery quality for your daily distance. If you ride hills or carry more weight, look for stronger power and higher torque. For rough roads, better tires and suspension improve comfort and control. Finally, consider water resistance, durability, and weight if you need to carry or store it often.

Extended Warranty How will a covered product issue be resolved?

If the issue is covered, the protection plan may:

  • Repair the product;
  • Provide a replacement with comparable functionality; or
  • Provide a cash settlement.

Repairs and replacements may use new, refurbished, or reconditioned parts.

The maximum amount the plan will pay over its lifetime is the original purchase price of the covered product.

M4 What battery voltage indicates a full charge on the AONIU M4?

The M4 uses a 48V battery. When fully charged, the voltage display will typically read approximately 54V, and the indicator light on the charger will change from red to green.
The reading may drop slightly after you unplug the charger; this is normal. Voltage alone does not give an exact battery percentage, so you can also check whether the charger indicator shows that charging is complete.
The voltage may also temporarily decrease while the scooter is being ridden, especially during acceleration or hill climbing. This does not necessarily mean there is a problem with the battery.
For safe and reliable charging, please use the original AONIU charger and charge the scooter in a dry, well-ventilated area. Once charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the scooter and the power outlet.

M4 What braking and lighting features does the AONIU M4 have?

The AONIU M4 is equipped with front and rear disc brakes, providing dependable braking control for everyday commuting and recreational riding. Braking performance can vary with rider weight, speed, terrain, weather, and brake adjustment, so we recommend checking both brakes before every ride.
For improved visibility, the M4 includes a headlight, taillight, sidelights, and turn signals. These lights help the rider see and be seen, especially during evening rides or in low-light conditions. Even with the built-in lighting system, riders should remain alert, wear visible clothing, and use additional reflective equipment when appropriate.

Extended Warranty What does the AONIU Extended Warranty Plan cover?

The AONIU Extended Warranty Plan helps protect your covered product against eligible mechanical and electrical failures after the original manufacturer’s warranty expires.

Power-surge coverage may also apply to supported product categories and begins on the date the protection plan is purchased. Coverage depends on the specific plan and product category shown in your plan confirmation.

Please review your plan confirmation and the applicable Terms & Conditions for complete coverage details, limitations, and exclusions.

M4 What does the AONIU M4’s one-year warranty cover?

The AONIU M4 comes with a one-year warranty. Warranty eligibility depends on the affected component, the cause of the issue, the date of purchase, and the terms of the AONIU warranty policy.
If you experience a problem with the battery, motor, controller, display, or another component during the warranty period, please contact support@aoniu.com. Include your order number, a clear description of the issue, and photos or a short video showing the problem. Our technical team will carefully review the information and provide an appropriate solution based on the warranty terms.
Accidental damage, improper use, unauthorized modifications or repairs, and damage caused by water exposure or failure to follow the user manual may not be covered. We will always review each case carefully and explain the available options clearly.

M4 What is an off-road electric scooter?

An off-road electric scooter is an electric scooter built to handle uneven, unpaved terrain—such as gravel paths, dirt trails, grass, and bumpy roads—with better stability and durability than a standard commuter scooter.

It typically features:

  • Larger, wider tires (often knobby or pneumatic tires) for stronger traction
  • Improved suspension/shock absorption to smooth out rough surfaces
  • Higher ground clearance to reduce bottoming out
  • A more powerful motor and higher torque for climbing and loose terrain
  • A reinforced frame and stronger braking system for added impact resistance and safer stopping
M4 What is the M4’s top speed? Does battery size affect it?

Both the 10Ah and 15Ah versions of the AONIU M4 can reach up to 28 mph. The larger battery does not increase the stated top speed, but it extends the stated range from up to 31 miles (10Ah) to up to 37 miles (15Ah).

Note: Top speed and range are maximum figures measured under favorable conditions. Your results may vary with rider weight, terrain, wind, riding mode, tire pressure, and battery charge.

M4 What terrain can the AONIU M4 handle beyond paved roads?

In addition to normal streets and paved paths, the AONIU M4 can handle moderately uneven surfaces such as firm gravel paths, compact dirt trails, short grass, and maintained park paths. Its 10-inch pneumatic tires and front and rear suspension help provide traction and riding comfort on these surfaces.
The M4 is not designed for extreme off-road riding, deep sand, deep mud, large loose rocks, or heavily damaged trails. Please inspect unfamiliar terrain before riding, reduce your speed, and avoid standing water or conditions that could cause the tires to lose traction. Choosing an appropriate route and riding within your experience level will help protect both you and the scooter.

M4 What tires does the AONIU M4 have?
10-Inch Pneumatic Tires

The AONIU M4 is equipped with 10-inch pneumatic tires for improved comfort on paved roads and moderately uneven surfaces.

Tire Size 10 inches
Tire Type Pneumatic tires
Recommended Use Paved roads and firm, even surfaces
Extended Warranty When does my protection begin and how long does it last?

Coverage begins at different times depending on the type of protection:

  • Mechanical and electrical failure coverage begins on the day the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
  • Power-surge coverage begins on the date the protection plan is purchased.
  • The protection plan term is two or three years, counted from the date the product was purchased.

Please check your plan confirmation to verify the protection term that applies to your purchase.

Most orders are delivered within approximately one week after shipment, although the actual delivery time may vary depending on your location, carrier operations, weather, holidays, and other circumstances beyond our control.

M4 Why Does the Battery Display Stay at 100% After Riding?

Why Does the Battery Display Stay at 100% After Riding?

If your AONIU M4 battery indicator continues to show 100% even after several miles of riding, the voltage setting on the TF-100 display may be incorrect.

The AONIU M4 uses a 48V battery system. Set the P03 parameter to 48V so the battery indicator can estimate the remaining battery level correctly.

How to Set P03 to 48V

Step 1: Turn On the Scooter

Press and hold the Power button until the display turns on.

Step 2: Enter the Settings Menu

Press and hold the Power and Mode buttons simultaneously until the P-setting menu appears.

Step 3: Navigate to P03

Briefly press the Power button to cycle through the parameters. Continue until P03 appears on the display.

Step 4: Set the Voltage to 48V

When P03 is displayed, briefly press the Mode button to change the voltage value. Continue pressing the Mode button until the value shown below P03 is 48.

Step 5: Save and Exit

Press and hold the Power and Mode buttons simultaneously to save the setting and exit the menu.

Do not turn off the scooter before completing this step, or the new setting may not be saved.

Step 6: Restart the Display

Press and hold the Power button to turn off the scooter. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Power button again to restart it.

Use the Power button—not the key—to turn off the display during this process.

How Can I Confirm That the Setting Was Saved?

Enter the settings menu again and navigate to P03. The value displayed under P03 should be 48.

The settings menu may initially open at P02. This is normal and does not mean that P03 has been reset. Briefly press the Power button to navigate to P03 and check the saved voltage value.

What If the Battery Level Is Still Incorrect?

After changing P03 to 48V:

  1. Fully charge the scooter.
  2. Restart the display.
  3. Ride the scooter for a short distance and check whether the battery indicator decreases normally.

Please note that the battery indicator is an estimate based on battery voltage. The displayed level may fluctuate slightly depending on riding speed, rider weight, hills, temperature, and battery load.

If the display still remains at 100%, please contact AONIU Support and provide:

  • Your order number
  • A photo showing the P03 value
  • A short video showing the display before and after restarting
  • A description of how far the scooter was ridden

Important Notice

Only change P03 as instructed. Changing other P-settings may affect the speed display, riding performance, or controller operation.
